Our mission is to provide excellent medical care for the entire family.

Metropolitan Family Practice, LLC was established as a result of Dr. Gerren Perry's vision of practicing medicine in a patient friendly setting. Many of us work long hours, take care of our family members and have little time to take care of our selves. Dr. Perry's vision is to provide patients with more direct access to their physician and convenient office hours by providing evening, weekend, and same day appointments, as well as home visits for the elderly.

Dr. Perry's Background

Dr. Perry is a native of the United States Virgin Islands and came to Washington DC in 1989 to attend the George Washington University.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1992 and remained at the university another four years to obtain her medical degree. She then attended the prestigious Georgetown University/Providence Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program and graduated as "Best Resident Clinician exemplifying the traits and qualities of a Family Doctor" in 1999. She has been practicing medicine since that time in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Dr. Perry is currently an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and has been training medical students and residents in the field of Family Medicine for the past 5 years. She directs the Home Visits Program at the Georgetown University/Providence Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program and was awarded the Health Advocacy Award by the DC Quality Trust in November 2004 for her services to patients that are disabled and unable to leave their homes to obtain medical care. 

Dr. Perry sits on the Home Study Advisory Board for the American Academy of Family Physicians and is an active member of the DC Academy of Family Physicians.
